Regional Education Service Agency IV is a group of professionals and assistants dedicated to providing every possible direct and supplemental service to the school systems in our six-county region. These counties are Braxton, Fayette, Greenbrier, Nicholas, Pocahontas and Webster.
RESA IV is governed by the West Virginia Board of Education and is advised directly by a regional council made up of the county superintendent, a board of education member from each participating county, a teacher, a principal, one chief instructional personnel from a member county, a representative of the State Superintendent of Schools, and a higher education representative from Marshall University.
Programs and services are funded by an appropriation from the State Legislature through the state formula for school support, by contracts for services with member county school systems, awarded competitive grants, non-competitive grants, and by the State Department of Education. Additional funding is acquired through contracts and private grants.
